Laura Maria Wiessner, age 85, of Taneytown, Maryland, formerly of Baltimore, Maryland, died on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born January 28, 1926 in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Roberto and Carolina Sarti. She was predeceased by her husband, William F. Wiessner.
Laura was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Taneytown. She was retired after 17 ½ years as a manager in the bakery department with Giant Foods.
Surviving are children and spouses, Sandy A. and Michael Murray of Taneytown, Laurie Schnepf and Dennis Dorothy of Havre de Grace, Shelly Peterson of Baltimore, and Bill and Gloria Wiessner of Kingsville; grandchildren and spouses, Lisa and Matthew Hall of Abingdon, David Peterson of Winchester, VA, April and Brian Kenney of Havre de Grace, Jim Peterson and fiancée Emily Bruns of Cockeysville, Brandon Alderson, C.J. Alderson, and Jenna Wiessner all of Kingsville; great-grandchildren, Dominic and Conner Hall, Kyley and Karson Kenney.
She was predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, Maryland with Monsignor Martin E. Feild as celebrant. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park in Eldersburg. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown.
