Larry Albert Weishaar, age 80, of Taneytown, Maryland, died on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the York Hospital Center in York, Pennsylvania.
Born on June 19, 1936 in Union Bridge, Maryland, he was the son of the late William Starner Weishaar and Mignon Randolph (Rinehart) Weishaar.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Patsey Ann Mary (Shipley) Weishaar.
Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Taneytown American Legion. He retired after many years as a heavy equipment operator for Genstar. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown. Larry loved gardening, coin collecting, and raising horses.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Lore M. Fritz and husband Jay of Taneytown and Paula C. Craven Hood and husband Audie Hood of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Dawn Faudale and husband Giovanni Faudale, Jr. of Taneytown, Timothy Craven and Elijah Hood of TN; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Faudale; sister, Sandra Wildisan and husband Paul of Westminster; brother, Randy Weishaar and wife Peggy of Westminster.
He was predeceased by an infant son, Larry William Weishaar; sister, Betty Weishaar; and brother, James Weishaar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, MD with Father John F. Lesnick as celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, MD 21787.
