Klara Marie Myers, 83, of Emmitsburg, Maryland died Sunday, August 26, 2012 at her residence. Born March 5, 1929 in Obermehlen, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Anna Linden Bachels.
Klara was a clerk for 35 years at the Seton Shrine Center Daughters of Charity Gift Shop. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Emmitsburg where she was a member of the Sodality. She was an animal lover and an avid flower gardener. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are daughter, Pauline Engelstatter and husband Harald, of Fairfield, PA; sons, Richard Myers and wife, Joan, of Fairfield, PA, and Ferdinand “Fred” Myers of Emmitsburg; grandchildren, Jacob Myers and wife, Lisa, Erik Engelstatter, Kristofer Engelstatter, Brianna Myers, and Andrea Engelstatter; great-granddaughters, Abigail and Savannah Myers; and many nieces and nephews. The last of her immediate family, she was predeceased by 6 brothers and 5 sisters in Germany. She was also predeceased by former spouse, Richard Myers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 30 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St., Emmitsburg, MD with the Rev. Charles F. Krieg, C.M. as celebrant. Interment will follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg. The Rosary will be shared at 7 p.m., led by the Rev. Stephen Trzecieski, C.M.
