Roger Kevin Stottlemyer, 40, of Taneytown died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. Born July 21, 1972 in Frederick, Maryland, he was the son of Roger W. Stottlemyer of New Midway and Patricia E. Long of Taneytown.
Kevin worked with his father in construction and excavating. A 1990 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School, he loved fishing, bowling, watching the Washington Redskins and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Surviving in addition to his parents are sisters, Sheila Stottlemyer and Maria Smith, both of Taneytown; nieces, Tiffany Stottlemyer, Chrissy Smith and Megan Hull; nephew, Michael Long, special great-nephews, Reecie and Kellan; and step-mother, Tracy Stottlemyer of New Midway.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Piney Creek Church of the Brethren, 4699 Teeter Rd, Taneytown, MD with the Rev. Stan Diehl, pastor of Piney Creek Church of the Brethren and the Rev. James Bussard, pastor of Heritage Park Baptist Church in Keymar officiating. Interment will follow in the Piney Creek Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive friends, 3-5 and 7-9 Wednesday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD.
