Kenneth “Pap” E. Swartzbaugh, Sr., age 72, of Taneytown, Maryland died on Monday, February 8, 2010 at the Gettysburg Hospital in Gettysburg, PA.
Born March 31, 1937 in Bird Hill, MD, he was the son of the late James Ray and Dorothy (Barber) Swartzbaugh, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patsy Delores (Becker) Swartzbaugh.
He enjoyed camping, bluegrass music, and fishing. He was a life member of the Westminter Moose Lodge # 1381, Littlestown Eagles, Aerie # 2226, the Home Association of the VFW #467 Westminster, and the N.R.A. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived in addition to his wife by sons, Kenneth E. Swartzbaugh, Jr. of Keymar, Kevin M. Swartzbaugh, Sr. and wife Rhonda of Union Bridge; grandchildren, Kevin M. Swartzbaugh, Jr., Kelly Beth Swartzbaugh, Heather E. Swartzbaugh, and Kaylen M. Swartzbaugh; great-grandchildren, Hanna and Baby Kevin; siblings, Donald W. Swartzbaugh of Westminster, James R. Swartzbaugh, Jr. of Westminster, Lewis Swartzbaugh of Clinton, MD, Beverly R. Kinzer of Westminster; and many nieces and nephews.
DUE TO THE EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY, 12, 2010 FROM 7-9 PM AT THE MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown. Services and interment in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery will be private.
