Kenneth David Robertson

August 9, 1955 — October 14, 2017

Kenneth David Robertson, 62, of New Windsor, Maryland, died peacefully on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born August 9, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Shirley Eleanor (Durham) Robertson of Baltimore, MD and the late David Walter Robertson.  He was the husband of 13 years to Heather Lynn (Martin) Robertson.

Ken was a graduate of Baltimore Lutheran High School, class of 1973, and then went on to electrician school and serve his apprenticeship from 1975-79’.  He was a master electrician with the Local 24 IBEW.  From 1981-2005 he worked with DECA Electrical contracting, from 2005-08’ he owned and operated TFC Electric, and from 2008-2016 he owned and operated Diamond Ridge Construction.  He specialized in commercial electrical contracting and commercial construction, but could build most anything as a general contractor.  For a time he also ran Red Barn graphics, printing t-shirts and hats for various organizations.  He was a scout master with Boy Scouts of America Troop #630 for many years.  He enjoyed hiking the Appalachian Trail, and was the go to “jack-of-all-trades” who tried his best to help everyone he came in contact with.  He was a member of St. Benjamin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Westminster.

Surviving in addition to his mother and wife are children, David Robertson and wife Meghan of New Windsor, Sarah Spencer and husband Andrew of Westminster, Christopher Robertson of New Windsor, Chris Barry and wife Megan of Westminster, Alyssa Garcia and husband Oswaldo of Fayetteville, N.C., and Casey Barry of Juneau, Alaska; 6 grandchildren; brother, Jeffrey Robertson and wife Lynn of Red Lion, PA; nephews, Greg, Scott, and Tim.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at St. Benjamin’s Lutheran Church, 700 Kriders Church Rd., Westminster with Rev. David S. Schafer officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Benjamin’s Lutheran Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster, and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
