Kathleen Elsie Glass, age 77, of Westminster, Maryland died on Monday May 9, 2016 at the Carroll Lutheran Village Healthcare Center.
Kathleen was a stay-at-home mom and a bookkeeper for the family business. Early on she was a caregiver for pre-adoption infants through social services. Her children’s care and well-being always came first.
An avid horseback rider, she enjoyed animals of all types especially her dogs, cats and horses. She was very creative with a love of reading and storytelling. She wrote and illustrated many children’s stories for her grandchildren.
Born August 7, 1938 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late David W. and Katherine E. (Thomas) Gow. She was predeceased by her husband Jesse Garland Glass, Sr. in 2004.
Surviving are sons, Dr. Jesse Garland Glass, Jr. and wife Mayako of Chiba, Japan, Jeffery D. Glass and wife Rachelle of Westminster, and Christopher D. Glass and wife Michele of Littlestown, Pa; grandchildren, Derek Glass, Delmar Glass, Tennessee Glass, Korin Watson and husband Daniel, Kolin Glass, Ethan Glass and Jacob Glass; great-grandchildren, Eli Grant and Rowan Watson.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD. Memorial services and interment will be private.
