Katelyn Elizabeth Weatherly, 20, of Gettysburg, PA, died peacefully Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at her home. Born June 6, 1995 in Gettysburg, she was the daughter of Patricia Boone, and step-father Joseph Boone, of Keymar, MD, and Neal Weatherly, and step-mother Christine Zeigler, of Gettysburg, PA. She was engaged to be married to Ethan Frusher of Gettysburg, PA.
Katelyn attended FSK High School and was a 2014 graduate of Commonwealth Connections Academy in Harrisburg, PA. She was a 2013 graduate of the MD Bartending Academy. She was employed at Ski Liberty near Fairfield, PA for three seasons. She enjoyed shopping, listening to music, and spending time with her family and her pet Chihuahua, Pudgey. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Flyers fan, and loved Harry Potter movies and books. Katelyn was known to be quite a social media butterfly.
Surviving in addition to her parents and step-parents are brothers, Douglas Colson and fiancée Alison Griffith of Boonsboro, MD, and Adam Colson and girlfriend Krista Michael of Gettysburg, PA; , sister, Jordan Bigham-Boone of Keymar; step-brothers, Eric Boone of Lancaster, PA, Kyle Boone of Santa Cruz, CA, Travis Boone of Hanover, PA, Skylar Boone of Taneytown, MD, and Justin Humphrey and wife Samantha of Gettysburg, PA; maternal grandparents, Judy Conaway and husband Roger of Woodbine, John Roser of Keymar, and Diana Roser of Carlisle, PA; paternal grandmother, Mildred Weatherly of Fairfield, PA; future in-laws, Chris and Christie Kelly of Westminster; future sister in law, Hannah Grace Frusher of Westminster; one niece, one nephew and many cousins. She was predeceased by paternal grandfather, Strather Weatherly and grandmother, Kathi Roser.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, 21787, with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Woodbine, MD. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 27, from 3–5 and 7–9 p.m., and on Monday, December 28, from 2–4 and 6–8 p.m.
