Karl "Danny" Wantz

Karl Daniel “Danny” Wantz, age 68, died suddenly on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Born July 6, 1954, he was the son of the late Karl and Julia Wantz. He was the loving husband to Bonnie (nee) Lookingbill Wantz for 37 years.

Danny was a 1972 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School. He spent 20 + years as a Maryland State Trooper. He enjoyed being a dairy farmer until 2006.  He was an auto body technician from a young age in Uncle Charlie’s shop until his passing. He was a hard worker, always available to help anyone who needed it. He never missed a birthday party or a family gathering.

He is survived by his wife and children Keith Wantz with wife Rachael Wantz and child Catalina Wantz (11) of Waynebsoro, PA, April Long with husband Ryan Long and children Alana (26), Timothy (23), Madisyn (18), Natalee (15), Khloe (11), and Jayde (7) of Owensboro, KY, Paul Wantz and children Paige (11) and Jill (7) of Littlestown, PA, and Zachary Wantz of Orrtanna, PA, Widow of eldest son Eric Wantz Emily Wantz and children Madison (9), Gabriel and Abigail (7) of Fairfield, PA. and sister Karen Paulsen of Hanover, PA.

Predeceased by his son Eric Wantz of Littlestown, PA in 2018.

A memorial service will be held at Myers-Durboraw Funeral home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown MD., 21787 on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 12 p.m. with Deacon Charles Barnhart, Jr. officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
