June M. Smith

June Marie Smith, age 83, of Taneytown, died Thursday, February 9, 2023, surrounded by her family at Lorien Taneytown. Born October 22, 1939, in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Guy Olander and Clara Tressler. She was the loving wife of John Allen Smith, Sr., who died in 2008.

After 20 years of service in housekeeping, she retired in 2010 from Lorien Nursing Home in Taneytown, MD.

June is survived by sons, John Allen Smith, Jr and wife Terry of Taneytown, Dale Robert Smith, Sr and wife Denise of Walkersville, Robbie Lee Smith, Sr. and wife Lisa of Taneytown; daughters, Peggy Marie Rock and husband Donald of Taneytown and Terry Lynn Parks and husband Alan of Fairfield, PA; brothers, Sherman Tressler of Frederick, Guy Tressler of Hagerstown and Mark Tressler of Walkersville; sisters, Goldie Fay Powers of Hagerstown, Eleanor Meyer of Fairfield, PA and Linda Webber of Walkersville; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 8 great great-grandchildren. Besides her husband she was predeceased by son, Kevin Gene Smith; brother George Tressler; sisters, Shirley Tressler and Peggy Clemson; son-in-law Walter Joseph Fogle Sr.; and great-grandson Abel Joseph Schisler.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 11 a.m. at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME P.A., 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD 21787 with Deacon Darrell Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2800 Old Westminster Pk., Finksburg, MD. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
