Julie Ann Robertson, 53, of Taneytown, MD, died Thursday, March 3, 2016 in Marion, Indiana. Born December 23, 1962 in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of Mary A. Blum of Taneytown and the late James E. DeGroft. Twice widowed, she was the wife of the late Randy Wetzel and the late Steve Robertson.
Julie loved working and traveling in a tractor trailer with her beloved companion, Alex Mast. She loved meeting and talking with people. Julie knew no strangers.
Surviving in addition to her mother are son, Matthew James Wetzel and his girlfriend Taylor Newman of Hagerstown; brother, James DeGroft of Littlestown, PA; step-brothers, Charles L. Blum and wife Nancy of Patapsco, and Bruce Scattergood of FL; step-sister, Deborah LaGrave of Taneytown; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son, Travis Eugene Wetzel, and step-father, Roland L. Blum.
A memorial service to celebrate Julie’s life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, with E. Gordon Brauning, Chaplain of the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Company, officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
