Julia M. Johnson, 71, resident of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2016 surrounded by her family at home.
Born on July 18, 1945 in Whitesburg, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Richard A. and Nanabelle Sexton. She was predeceased by her husband, Jimmie C. Johnson in 2003.
Julia was retired from Springfield State Hospital as a nurse’s assistant. She was an aspiring writer during her retirement years, and developed many friendships from around the World internet writing community.
Surviving her are a daughter, Amanda L. Holmes and husband Jeffery of Westminster; grandson, Matthew A. Holmes and wife Ashley; brother, Robert Sexton and wife Bobbie of Baltimore; and sisters, Dixie Petrie and Alice Dyer and husband Kenneth both of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Hubert Sexton.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis Street, Westminster with her brother, Robert Sexton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Private inurnment will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Garrison Forest in Owings Mills, Maryland.
