Julia Elizabeth Humbert, age 83 of Westminster died Thursday May 3, 2012 at Sunflower Hill Assisted Living in Westminster. She was born June 20, 1928, near Motter’s Station, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Ellis and Florence Thompson Glass. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Thomas Humbert, to whom she was married for 57 years.
She had been employed at Sharkey’s Restaurant, The Top Hat Restaurant, Random House and Westminster VFW Dining Room.
She was an active member of the Westminster VFW, where she served as past president and held various other offices. She was a volunteer for the Carroll Hospital Center Auxillary and Westminster VFW.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Thomas E. & Cheryl Humbert, son, Randy L. Humbert, and a daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Keith Peterson, all of Westminster, MD; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; brother, Donald Glass of Keymar.
She was predeceased by sisters, Artie Miller, Pauline Forney, and Gladys Moffitt; and brothers, Ray E. Glass and James E. Glass.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service Monday, May 7, 2012, at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster, MD. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster, MD with Pastor John A. Campbell officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
