Julia Alice Grimes, age 95 formerly of Westminster, died Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She was born December 20, 1912 in Westminster, the daughter of the late James and Rebecca Fowler McQuay. She was the wife of the late Roland C. Grimes, Sr. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Westminster. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, doing word puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roland C. Jr. and Janine Grimes of Spotsylvania, VA; siblings, Helen Blizzard of Westminster, Betty Stultz of Oklahoma and Lloyd McQuay and Elizabeth Martin both of Hanover, PA; also 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Sunday 2:00 PM at Myers-Durboraw Funeral, 91 Willis Street, Westminster with Pastor Gregory Arutyunyan.
Inurnment will be private.
The family will receive friends Saturday 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
