Joshua Mark Hipps

July 8, 1984 — April 29, 2017

Joshua Mark Hipps, 32, of Frederick, Maryland, died suddenly on Saturday, April 29, 2017 as a result of an automobile accident.

Born on July 8, 1984 in Rockville, Maryland, he was the son of Cindy M. (Fusco) Krauss of Emmitsburg and Donnie Lee Hipps of Frederick.

Josh worked in several dairy processing industries over the last few years.  He attended Francis Scott Key High School and graduated from Catoctin High School Class of 2002, and then attended Frederick Community College.  He loved history, geography, skiing, cooking, and playing board games.  He was an avid Washington Redskins football fan.  He loved spending time with family and keeping family traditions.

Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister, Madison M. Krauss of Emmitsburg; maternal grandparents, Betty Jean Rosenbaum of Emmitsburg and Anthony Fusco of Calliham, TX; paternal grandmother, Anna Mae Hipps of Hurley, VA; step-father, Gary A. Krauss of Emmitsburg; step-grandparents, Gary and Susan Krauss of Finksburg; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was predeceased by paternal grandfather, Charles Stuard Hipps.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown with Father John F. Lesnick as celebrant.  Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mother Seton School Scholarship Fund, 100 Creamery Rd., Emmitsburg, MD  21727.
