Joseph Charles “Whiz” Ruppert, age 74, of Westminster, Md., died on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at his home.
Born June 25, 1934 in Westminster, Md., he was the son of the late Joseph and Vola Arnold Ruppert. He was the husband 52 years of Ruth L. Ball Ruppert.
He was employed by Mitchell Transport in Union Bridge, MD for twenty-seven years, driving for Lehigh Cement Co. He drove part-time for Toyota of Westminster until his illness last March. He also drove for Lincoln Tours.
He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Westminster, the Moose Lodge of Westminster, F.O.E. Eagles in Littlestown and Mayberry Game Protective Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Cherl Johnson (Bill) of Littlestown, PA, and Karen Ruppert of Pasadena, MD; and one granddaughter, Angela Johnson. He was one of ten siblings.
A memorial service will be held at a future date. Arrangements are by Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, Westminster, MD.
