Joseph Michael Masilek, Sr., 45, of New Windsor, Maryland, died on Thursday, October 5, 2017.
Born on October 10, 1971 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the son of William Robert Masilek, Sr. of Edgemere, MD., and the late Janet Lynn (Fort) Masilek. He was the husband of 20 years to Kristie Lou (Robosson) Masilek.
Joe was a graduate of Franklin Senior High School in Reisterstown, class of 1989. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served from 1989-1992 during Operation Desert Storm in Iraq, where he drove ammunition from Turkey into Iraq. He loved his family, especially his children.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and father, are children, Kayla N. Masilek of Salt Lake City, UT, Christina M. Kurtz of Seattle, WA, Jessica E. Masilek and Joseph M. Masilek, Jr. both of New Windsor, MD; grandson, Nekolai Atlas Masilek; siblings, Janet Masilek of Baltimore, MD, Dawn Thomas of Littlestown, PA, Lisa Masilek of Taneytown, MD, William Masilek, Jr. of Reisterstown, MD, Kelly Sonne of Frederick, MD, and Edith Wilder of Hagerstown, MD; and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Alvera Masilek.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St, Westminster, MD, with Pastor Anne C. Durboraw officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
