Joseph Edward Kureth, Jr., age 62 of Westminster, died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. He was born May 4, 1946 in Baltimore, the son of the late Joseph E. Kureth, Sr. and Margaret J. Owens Gaither. He was the husband of Patricia C. Kucharski Kureth, his wife of 36 years. He worked as a disc jockey as “Country Joe” at WTTR radio station.
In addition to his wife he is survived by children, Joseph E. III and wife, Karrie Kureth of South Carolina, Michael R. Kureth of California, Theodore R. Kureth and fiancee’, Jessica Leonard of Westminster and Patricia M. Kureth and fiance’, Jason Stewart of Virginia; grandson, Joey Kureth IV, mother-in-law, Rita B. Kucharski of Westminster; uncle, Richard Owens of Florida; aunt, Sr. Genevive Kureth, D.C. of the Provincial House in Emmitsburg, MD.
He was predeceased by his brother Raymond Kureth.
A memorial Mass will be held Saturday 1:30 P.M. at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe Street, Westminster with Msgr. Arthur F. Valenzano as celebrant.
Interment will be private.
Friends may call at the church one half hour prior to the service.
