Joseph "Ronnie" Hill

Joseph Ronald “Ronnie” Hill, 72, of York, PA, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at York Hospital in York, PA.  Born October 5, 1943 in Taneytown, MD, he was the son of the late Theodore and Madeline (Burke) Hill.  He was the husband of Virginia (Wise) Hill of Gettysburg, PA.

Ronnie was a machinist at York Harley-Davidson where he was employed for 37 years.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown, MD.  He enjoyed bowling, attending concerts, watching western movies and NASCAR races.  His favorite drivers were Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Jeff Gordon.

Surviving are children, Charles Dirk Hill and wife Michelle of Biglerville, PA, Sherri Stewart and husband James, Joseph Ronald Hill, Jr. and wife Paula, and Leslie Neeper and husband Carl, all of York, PA, and Melanie Warford and husband Alex of Cleveland, OH; companion, Sharon Henderson of York, PA; sisters, Bernice Graham of Gettysburg, PA, and Virginia “Ginny” Henderson of Taneytown, MD; brother, Vincent Hill and wife Martha of Gettysburg, PA; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by brothers, Edward “Bunk” Hill, William “Peck” Hill, and Gerald “Natu” Hill.

The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, MD, with Msgr. Martin E. Feild as celebrant.  Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Care Associates of York, 25 Monument Rd., York, PA, 17403.
