Joseph C. Gloyd

Joseph C Gloyd, 90, of Taneytown, died Sunday, February 26, 2023, at home. Born December 8, 1932, he was the son of the late William Gloyd and Nannie Cromwell. He was the loving husband to the late Jean W. Gloyd.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, and worked at Whittaker Brothers. He enjoyed woodworking, building furniture, and was considered a jack of all trades. He was a wonderful caregiver, willing to help anyone and loved to talk to anyone, especially sharing his laughter and wonderful jokes. One of nine children, he was above all a dedicated family man, and loved attending family reunions.

Surviving are children, Beverly Malzahn and husband Chris of Stafford, VA, Diane Gloyd of Taneytown, and Joseph Gloyd, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Katie Malzahn of  Richmond, VA, and Michael Malzahn of Denver, CO; and brother, Albert Gloyd.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Fredrick St, Taneytown, MD 21787, Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11 a.m.
