Joseph Curtis Glass, age 73, of Westminster, Maryland died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at his home. Born September 26, 1937 in Carroll County, Maryland, he was the son of the late Curtis & Sally Siess Glass.
He was a veteran of the military, having served in the United States Army. He was a truck driver for Mitchell Transportation in Union Bridge, Maryland for more than 30 years. During his younger years he played for the Harney baseball team. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, fishing and shooting pool.
Surviving are daughter, Linda Kline & husband Carroll, of Keymar; sons, Richard Angell and wife Pat, of Westminster, Ronald Glass of Littlestown, & Dale Glass of Taneytown and their mother, Doris Glass of Taneytown; sister, Barbara Atwell of Taneytown; brothers, Johnny Glass of Dover, Delaware, Robert Glass of Thurmont, & Larry Glass of Damascus; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Janet Cummins and brothers, Charles, Jimmy & Francis “Sonny” Glass.
A mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, MD, with Monsignor Martin E Feild serving as communicant. Interment will follow at Keysville Union Cemetery in Keysville, MD.
