Joseph Edward Dix

Joseph Edward “Eddie” Dix, 72, of New Windsor, passed on Monday, April 17, 2023, at his home. Born January 19, 1951, he was the son of the late Raymond Dix and Delores (Crawford) Dix Barber.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Grace Dix and his sister Ann Synodinos.

Eddie was kind to everyone; he never met a stranger. He delivered newspapers for The Baltimore Sun in Armstead Gardens in Baltimore and then later in Carroll County. Eddie enjoyed bowling, trains, and the Baltimore Orioles. He was a member of Chimes Maryland and the Westminster Knights of Columbus Council 1393. He loved to play Santa Claus at Christmas for the holiday parties at Richcroft Inc.

He is survived by his beloved family; Ted and Annette McFadden, Teresa and Paul O’Brien, Susan McFadden, Ben, Jacob, Matt, and Aunt Pat Bunke. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, and friends at the Arc of Carroll County and Richcroft.

The family will receive friends from 10 am to 12 Noon on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 91 Willis Street, Westminster, MD 21157, where a funeral service will begin at 12 Noon. Interment at Baltimore National Cemetery will be private.
