Joseph Roberts Briscoe, age 87, formerly of Lochearn, Maryland, died on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Transitions Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sykesville.
Born June 8, 1926 in Ashland, Kentucky, he was the son of the late James F. Briscoe, Sr. and Gladys (Skaats) Briscoe.
He was retired as a federal employee with Social Security.
Surviving are nephews, J. Douglass Briscoe and wife Diana of Westminster, and Dr. Travis A. Meredith and wife Karen of North Carolina; niece, Susan B. Huse of Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Margaret “Peg” Briscoe of Florida.
He was predeceased by a brother, James F. Briscoe, Jr. and sister, Virginia Briscoe Meredith.
A private graveside service will be held in the Westminster Cemetery.
