John “Jake” H. Shipley, Jr. age 44, of Littlestown, PA, died on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at his home.
Born June 11, 1971 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of John H. Shipley, Sr. of Littlestown and Bertha F. (Summers) Emerson of Littlestown.
Jake worked part-time at the Littlestown Foundry. He was a graduate of Littlestown High School class of 1991. He enjoyed taking rides with his Dad, golfing with his son Johnny, and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his parents are son, John H. Shipley, III of S.C., sisters, Barbara Rill and husband Rusty of Taneytown, and Theresa Rill and husband Rodney of Taneytown; former spouse, Tanya Tyndal Shipley of S.C.; step-daughter, Cheyenne Marishka Mae Carroll of Baltimore; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Grace U.C.C. Cemetery in Taneytown. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
