John "Jake" A. Walsh, Jr

John A. “Jake” Walsh, Jr. age 38 of Franklinton, North Carolina died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 in Aikens, South Carolina. He was born July 25, 1970 in Westminster, the son of John A. Walsh, Sr. and Margaret Bowen both of Hampstead. He was the husband of Denise “Dee” R. Donnelly Walsh, his loving wife of 3 ½ years. He was the step-son of Barb Walsh of Hampstead. He was a 1988 graduate of Franklin High School. He was an employee for 17 years for Jolly Shows Carnival. He loved fishing, hunting and especially his wife and family. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and collected Snoopy.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by children, Jordan T. Groft of Beaver, W VA, Ashley P. Wolbert and Cody B. Wolbert both of Franklinton, NC, Timothy M. Wolbert of Upperco, brother & sisters, Michael Walsh of Union Bridge, MD, Edward Sible of New Windsor, John Myers and wife Jennifer of Manchester, Kimberly Walsh Gregory of Westminster and Cheryl Myers of Elgin, ILL, nephew, Dillon Myers; aunts and uncles, Eleanor J. and Charles Kenyon of New Windsor, Mary Ann Condon of Westminster, Margaret E. and Barry Haines of Union Bridge, Michael E. and Barb Walsh of Hampstead, Frederick B.T. and Connie Walsh of Westminster and loving aunt Patti Walsh of Westminster; aunt, Patricia Urey and cousin, Shane Bowen both of Hampstead; in-laws, Jeffrey and Kim Poff of Taneytown, Goldie Fritz and Ronald Simmons of Hampstead and Bruce and Arlene Donnelly of Thurmont and numerous cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held Monday 8:00 pm at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster with Pastor Tom DiMaggio officiating. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends Monday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with the final expenses.
