John Donald Verfaillie, age 85, of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully on Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Carroll Lutheran Village Healthcare Center in Westminster.
Born July 29, 1926 in Kingston, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late August and Badellia (Nelson) Verfaillie. He was the loving and devoted husband of 35 years to Marcelene P. Verfaillie.
Don was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany following WWII with the Stars and Stripes paper. He was a retired supervisor with Inland Steel Co. and a member of St. Luke’s (Winters) Lutheran Church in New Windsor. He and his wife enjoyed living at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster.
Surviving in addition to his wife are 3 step-daughters and 4 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster. Services will be private.
