John Joseph Stotsky

John Joseph Stotsky, age 66, of Taneytown, died on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster following a battle with cancer.
Born September 5, 1944 in Baltimore Co., Maryland, he was the son of Anna Catherine (Casson) Stotsky of Ottumwa, Iowa and the late Adam Lawrence Stotsky. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dixie Lee (Ohler) Stotsky.
John worked in the maintanence department for the Carroll County School Board retiring in 2006, and was a member of the Gettysburg Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed his Ford Mustang, fishing, and vegetable gardening in his spare time.
Surviving in addition to his wife are son, John Joseph Stotsky, Jr. and wife Winifred Elizabeth of York, PA; grandchildren, Lauren Wolfgang and husband Jared and Joshua Stotsky; great-granddaughters, Autumn Jade and Alena Mae Wolfgang; brothers, Timothy Stotsky of Hanover, PA, Adam Stotsky, Jr. of Gettysburg, PA, and Robin Stotsky of York, PA; sisters, Anna Jones and husband Charles of Thurmont, Joyce Stotsky of Missouri, and Margaret “Katie” Knott and husband Thomas of Ottumwa, Iowa.
He was predeceased by a brother, Karroll Stotsky.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 PM, on Friday, January 28, 2011 at the Gettysburg Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1274 Highland Avenue Rd., Gettysburg, PA. Interment will be private.
Arrangements are by the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown, MD.
