John Wayne Ohler, age 37, of Cascade, Maryland, died early Thursday morning, August 21, 2008 at his home, following an extended illness.
Born November 23, 1970, in Gettysburg, Pa., he was the son of Guy W. Jr., and Connie L. (Miller) Ohler of Emmitsburg. He was the husband of Lisa D. (Seipler) Ohler, whom he married July 1, 2008.
John attended Catoctin High School and earned his GED in 1994. Until his illness he drove a truck for Coyle Trucking in Thurmont, Md. He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, and bowling. He was also an avid Yankee and Eagles fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are daughter, Tiffany Ohler and step-son, John Spahr Jr., both of Cascade; brother and sister-in-law, Matthew R. Sr., and Shannon Ohler of Emmitsburg; maternal grandmother, A. Patricia Miller of Emmitsburg, and paternal grandfather Donald V. Cool of Taneytown.
Also surviving are many uncles, aunts, and cousins. He will be especially remembered by his mother-in-law, Lora Seipler, of Sabillasville.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, with Rev. Father Jack Lombardi and Pastor Mark A. Hosler co-officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery at Germantown Church of God in Cascade. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home, where a prayer service will be held at 8:00 PM.
