John Joseph Hudgins

October 4, 1944 — January 17, 2011

John J. Hudgins, 66, of Westminster died Monday, January 17, 2011 in Taneytown. Born October 4, 1944 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late John and Leona (Wirth) Hudgins. He was the husband of Betty Lessner.

He worked many years for the Baltimore Sun and recently for Arc of Carroll County. John was known as a friendly person with a charismatic personality. He was affiliated with Taneytown Baptist church and enjoyed music, playing drums, and watching old westerns.

Surviving in addition to his wife are sister, Virginia Dykes of Taneytown; son, Harold Lessner, III of Wake Forest, NC; daughters Michelle Lessner of Eldersburg and Christine of Baltimore; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brother-in-law, Fred Taylor of Catonsville and several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Taylor.

A memorial service will be held at a later time.
