John A. Horrell, age 89 of Finksburg, died Tuesday August 7, 2012 at Gilchrist Hospice Center in Towson, MD. He was born June 15, 1923 in Apollo, PA son of the late John T. and Goldie Ridenour Horrell. He was the husband of the late Clara Cochran Horrell. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theatre. He worked in the maintenance department at Carroll County Hospital. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by children, Coleene Novak of Indiana and Gordon Horrell and wife, Diane of Finksburg; daughter-in-law, Karen Horrell of Hanover, PA. also 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
He was predeceased by his son, “Johnny” R. Horrell.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 13, 2012
at Calvary Baptist Church, 3200 Ridge Road, Westminster with Pastor Tim Leaman officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville.
The family will receive friends Sunday 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster and Monday 10:00 am until time of service at the church.
