John Harold “Bubby” Gaver, Jr., 77, of Emmitsburg, MD died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at St. Catherine Nursing Center in Emmitsburg. Born September 20, 1935 in Frederick County, MD he was the son of the late John and Nellie Crilly Gaver, Sr.
John was a farmer and truck driver. He attended Grace Bible Church. He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, and wild boar hunting. He loved to eat and he loved Christmas. He was a fan of the Baltimore Ravens.
Surviving are children, John Gaver, III and wife, Robin, of Mt. Airy, Perry Gaver of PA, Helen Gaver of Waynesboro, PA, Annette Johnson and husband, Charles, of Smithsburg, Betty Smith and husband, Gary, of Gaithersburg, Patty Cook of Oakland, Shelly Whipp and companion, Jeremiah Hull, of Hagerstown, Connie Stouter and companion, Nick Wivell, of Orrtanna, PA, Jason Powell of Hagerstown, Justin Stanley of Williamsport, and Ruby Gaver of Hagerstown; brother, Richard Gaver and wife, Barbara, of Thurmont; sisters, Ara “Sis” DeVinney of Emmitsburg, and Mary Whipp and husband, Gary, of Emmitsburg; sister-in-law, Virginia Gaver of Frederick; 27 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, David Gaver; sisters, Alice Lawrence, Nancy Irwin, and Bonnie Dubel; and brother, Ralph Gaver.
Funeral services are private. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, MD.
