John Barry Calafos

John Barry Calafos, 77, of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at the Bridge Life Dove House. He was born on July 24, 1947 in Boone, North Carolina to the late John Calafos and Dorothy J. Calafos, nee VanDyke. He was the husband of 50 years to the late Beverly Dawn Calafos, nee Cavanaugh. John worked for C & P Telephone and retired as a lineman. He loved collecting rocks and minerals, going to caverns, reading, and spending time with family. He is survived by his sons, Michael Calafos and wife Margaret of Dillsburg, PA, and Jeffrey Calafos and wife Roxana of Plainfield, IL; grandchildren, Sofia and Lucas Calafos; and sister, Barbara Ghee. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13th, 2025 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 91 Willis Street, Westminster (21157) with Pastor Jim Bracelin officiating. Burial will follow in the Carrollton Church of God Cemetery in Finksburg. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 11th from 6-8 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
