John William Bushman Sr., 47, of Hagerstown, MD, formerly of Emmitsburg, died Thursday, January 29, 2015, in Hagerstown as the result of a traffic accident. Born January 31, 1967 in Washington, D.C., he was the beloved son of Charles W. “Bo” Bushman and Sylvia L. (Springer) Bushman of Emmitsburg.
John was a 1985 graduate of Catoctin High School. He was a fork lift operator at the PAV-Stone Concrete Company in Hagerstown. He was a hard worker, a very strong man, and always wanted the best for everyone. John enjoyed his job and loved his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, riding motorcycles, and was a NASCAR racing fan, always pulling for #24, Jeff Gordon.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are daughters, Ashley Bushman and fiancée, John Watkins Sr., of Frederick, Stephanie Bushman and fiancée, Edson Aldunde, of Thurmont, and Tiffany Bushman and fiancée, Byron Vasquez, of Frederick; one grandson, Dominic Aldunde, and two future grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, John William Bushman Jr. and five brothers and sisters, Robert, William, Sandra, Susan, and Bonnie Bushman. He was a great father and son who will be sadly missed by his children and parents.
The family will receive friends 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St, Emmitsburg, MD. A remembrance service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday with the Reverend Dr. Colin A. Phillips, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Emmitsburg, officiating. Interment will be held at a later time.
