John Victor Bixler, age 83, of Westminster, Maryland, died on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester.
Born June 4, 1925 in Bachmans Valley, Maryland, he was the son of the late Herbert and Carrie (Kroh) Bixler. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Betty Marshall Bixler in 2006.
He was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Bachmans Valley. John was a life long farmer in Carroll County and was an avid reader and enjoyed antiques.
Surviving are daughters, Christine Bixler of Westminster, Regina Rollins and husband Edgar of Manchester, sister-in-law Kathryn Bixler of Sykesville. He was predeceased in addition to his wife by siblings, Mary E., Charles H., Vernon, Robert K., and Harold B. Bixler.
Services will be private, there will be no visitation.
