Johanna Carole Keefer Grove, age 63 of Westminster, Maryland died suddenly on Thursday November 17, 2011 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore.
She was born February 5, 1948 in Baltimore, daughter of the late John W, and Anita A. Gardner Keefer. She was the wife of C. Brent Grove, her husband of 30 years.
She graduated from Mercy High School in Baltimore. She retired after 25 years in the collection department with BG&E, and then worked for the ARC of Carroll County as a bus driver. Her passion in life was training all types of dogs and breeding German Shepherds on their family farm, “Hannamoor Farm” in Mayberry.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children, Julie A. McCarthy and husband Richard of Abington, William J. Kellner and wife Karen of Marriottsville, Chad E. Kellner and wife Karen Ann Millar of New Oxford, PA, Wendy A. Bentley and husband Louis of Manchester, Leigh Finney and husband Ned of Upperco, Edward Grove and wife Elizabeth of Baltimore, Charles Grove and wife Laurie of Glen Rock, PA, James Grove of Millers, and Marshall L. Grove of Reisterstown; sister, Regina Ross of Mayberry; 24 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her step-father, James E. Bowen and by a step-son, John Grove.
A Prayer Service will be held at 10:00 AM, on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster with Monsignor Martin E. Feild officiating. Interment will follow in the Emmanuel Baust Cemetery in Tyrone. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
