Joan Dolores Stonesifer

Joan Dolores Stonesifer, 87, of Westminster, MD, died peacefully on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  Born November 26, 1935 in Taneytown, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Noah and Ruth N. (Legore) Baumgardner. She was the devoted wife of the late Leland Stewart Stonesifer.

Joan was a homemaker, and enjoyed the abundant time she spent with her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, and knitting.

Surviving are children, Denise (Earl) Tatum of Littlestown, PA, Stewart (Denise) Stonesifer, and Edwin Stonesifer, both of Westminster; brother, Ronald (Shirley) Baumgardner of WV; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends, Friday, April 14, 2023 from 10 a.m., at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, P.A.,136 E Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD 21787, until the time of a memorial service at 11 a.m., with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart Jr., officiating. Inurnment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan’s name may be made to BridgingLife Hospice Development Office, 200 Memorial Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
