Janet “Jane” Catherine Hugg, age 90, of Uniontown, went to serve the Lord after complications due to chemical pneumonia on Monday, May 13.
She was born August 4, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland, daughter of the late Joseph George Emge and Catherine Agatha “Buettner” Emge. She was the wife of the late George E. Hugg.
She graduated from St. Ursula Catholic School Parkville MD, Class of 1950.
Mrs. Hugg was employed by Kessler Shoe Co. Westminster, D & L Meats Union Bridge, J.A. McDermott also of Union Bridge, and retiring from Random House of Westminster.
In her free time, she enjoyed following the Orioles and Ravens, reading, doing crossword puzzles and attending family gatherings.
She had 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She is survived by two sons Lawrence I. Hugg and companion Joan Rodkey of Taneytown and Robert A. Hugg and wife Sandra of Clermont Florida. Jane is survived by Judith A. Thomas and husband William A. of Chesterfield, Virginia.
Mrs. Hugg was preceded in death by a sister Mary Lanciotti of Reisterstown, MD, a brother Lawrence Emge of Flatwoods, West Virginia, and a daughter-in-law Christina Hugg of Westminster.
The Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-7:30 PM Friday May 31, with a brief service at 7:30 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street Westminster. Interment will be held privately at Evergreen Memorial Gardens at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the New Windsor Fire Dept. at P.O. Box 247, New Windsor, MD 21776 or the American Lung Association.
