James Bryant “Jim” Jones, age 74, of Westminster, Maryland, died on Monday, September 16, 2013 at his home following an extended illness.
Born February 26, 1939 in Salem, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Vernon and Juanita (Bozeman) Jones. He was the husband of Juanita (Lockard) Jones.
Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was retired after 35 years as a production supervisor with Corporate Press Printing of Bowie, MD. During his retirement he drove for Johnson Bus Service in Westminster. He was an avid Washington Redskins and Baltimore Orioles fan, and enjoyed golf outings with his close friends, Roger Bender and Dave Peterson. He attended Carrollton Church of God in Finksburg; and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter, Sheri Felkel and husband Dennis of Columbia, SC; step-daughter, Kim Duvall Holland of Westminster; half-sister, Maetta Jones of KY; grandchildren, Jason Meads, Cameron Felkel, Hayli and Ricky Holland.
He was predeceased by a brother, Virgil Jones.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Carrollton Church of God, 2151 Bethel Road, Finksburg, MD with Pastor Dave Meador officiating. Inurnment will follow with military honors in Carrollton Church of God Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD 21157 to help defray final expenses.
