James Tunney Nash, Sr

James Tunney Nash, Sr., age 80, of Westminster, Maryland, died on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.
Born September 24, 1927 in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Edward S. Sr., and Nora Victoria (Jefferson) Nash. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 49 years, Geraldine Dolores (Howe) Nash in 2000.
Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Artillery Division, serving during the Korean War. He worked for many years with Kaiser Aluminum Chemical Corporation in the Aluminum Extruding Department. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Taneytown, Hesson Snieder Post 120 of the American Legion in Taneytown, and the Mason Dixon Post 6954 of the V.F.W. in Littlestown, Pa. He was a strong believer in his faith, and lived by his example of love, honor and respect of family and friends.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Darlene Marie and Joseph I. Rhoads, a son, James Tunney Nash, Jr., and other close family and friends. Also surviving is a close companion, Joan DaRoja.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, with the Rev. Msgr. Martin E. Feild as celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Taneytown. The family will receive friends on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown.
