James William Kerr, age 60, of Westminster, Maryland, formerly of Seattle, Washington, died at his home on Thursday, July 2, 2015 under hospice care following a long battle with liver cancer.
Born on July 2, 1955 in Texas, he was the son of the late Emory L. and Elsie (Jorgensen) Kerr. He is survived by his wife, Linda “Lin” Jean Lippy.
James graduated from the University of Washington and spent much of his career as a paralegal specializing in constitutional law. He spent the majority of his life living in Seattle, Washington; and was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Littlestown, PA as well as the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed traveling all over the world, especially to Japan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by step-father, Tom Ryder of Seattle, WA; step-mother, Emi Kerr of Walnut Creek, CA; step-sons, Chris and Micah of Westminster; brother, John Kerr of Oakland, CA.
He was predeceased by a brother, Michael Cooper.
Per his wishes, there will be no viewing. Following cremation a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date in Seattle, Washington at the St. James Cathedral. Inurnment will follow in Seattle, WA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Westminster, Maryland.
