Born December 5, 1940 in Thurmont, he was the son of the late Elmer and Clara (Martin) Fuss. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Jane (Cool) Fuss.
Jim was a retired policeman and served the towns of Emmitsburg and Thurmont, Maryland during his 33 plus years on the police force. He served as chief of police in Emmitsburg for a short time. He also was a truck driver for a short time.
Surviving in addition to his wife are grandsons, Ryan Kint and Michael Carannante; great-granddaughter, Willow Kint; special nephew, Donald Fuss; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Joyce E. Fuss, and by a brother, Dick Fuss, and sister, Frances Sweeney.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2015, at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St, Emmitsburg, MD. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
