James David Flater, age 54, of Randallstown, formerly of Westminster, Maryland, died on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Northwest Hospital Center Seasons Hospice in Randallstown.
He was born on June 11, 1959 in Hanover, PA, son of the late John Arnold and Geneva (Waltz) Flater.
He was a 1978 graduate of the Maryland School for the Deaf. He worked with Change, Inc. in Westminster and recently with Emerge Greenhouses of Hunt Valley. James enjoyed movies and T.V. especially Disney, and going to the beach.
Surviving are brother, John Flater of Baltimore; sister, Elizabeth Ness of Hebron; brother-in-laws, Larry Hugg of Westminster and Glenn Heisey of Baltimore; niece, Amanda Hugg and husband Sourabh Verma; nephew, Matthew Hugg; great-nephew, Devon Verma.
He was predeceased by his sister Frances Waltz, and by his devoted and loving caregiver, Geneva “Chris” Hugg in December of 2013.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until the time of a Memorial Service at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster. Private interment will be held in Deer Park United Methodist Cemetery at a later date.
