James “Jim” Blimmel, 56, of Westminster died early Sunday morning, December 15, 2013 at Carroll Hospital Center.
Born May 21, 1957 in Johnstown, PA, he was the son of James Q. Blimmel and wife Ann Davidson Blimmel of Columbia, MD and the late Barbara Irwin Blimmel. He was the husband of Karen Matthews Blimmel, with whom he celebrated 26 years of marriage on Thanksgiving Day.
Jim worked in construction for 30 years and was a much respected project manager for Consolidated Waterproofing Contractors, Inc. He spent his free time golfing and cheering on his Washington Redskins.
Surviving in addition to his parents and wife are children, James, Megan and Annie Blimmel at home; sisters and brothers-in-law, Roseann and David Dougherty of Glenwood and Jan Tingler of Glen Burnie; brothers and sisters-in-law, Chris Blimmel of Washington, DC and David and Janet Blimmel of Northern, VA; sister-in-law, Laura Blimmel of Pasadena; 5 nieces and 10 nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Mike Blimmel.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 PM on Thursday December 19th from the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
