James Leroy Blanchette

James Leroy Blanchette, age 78, of Westminster, died Friday, August 25, 2023, at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Long View, Manchester.  Born November 8, 1944, he was the son of the late Ralph Edward and Margaret nee Morehouse Blanchette. He was the loving husband to Betty Jean Blanchette for 35 years.

Jimmy was a warehouse worker for various distribution centers throughout the years. He served 6 years in the US Army in 1966 to 1972 . He was a Pittsburgh Steelers and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He liked watching NASCAR and enjoyed good food and bluegrass music. Jimmy was a pleasant, happy family man.

Besides his wife Betty Jean he is survived by his children, Ashley Holmes and husband Matthew of Hanover, PA, Bobbie Carhart and husband James of Finksburg, MD, and Brian Boone of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Maggie Holmes, Bret Carhart, Kurtis and Luke Boone; great-grandchildren Ryder and Meadow Boone; brothers, Richard and Charles Blanchette of Newark OH and sister, Janice Moss of Newark OH

Jim was predeceased by his son Scott Boone; sister, Cynthia Yost and brother, Ralph Blanchette, Jr.

A time of visitation where the family will welcome friends will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, for 11a.m. to 1 p.m. at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home P.A. 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD 21157. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jimmy’s honor to the Humane Society of Carroll County or American Cancer Society.
