James Gilbert Bitz, age 58, of Westminster, died Wednesday evening, December 31, 2014 at Carroll Hospice Dove House.
Born August 5, 1956 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Barbara (Hoffmann) Bitz. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Deborah (Evans) Bitz.
Jim was a Baltimore County Police Officer for 36 years. He loved photography and was a gun-smith. He was a Civil War history buff and enjoyed Gettysburg. He also loved his animals.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Ryan C. Bitz and wife, Rosa of Honolulu, Hawaii, Jamie L. Miller and husband, Robert of Taneytown and Scott C. Bitz and fiancée Jacquelyn of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Wyatt and Logan Miller and Sebastian and Makenna Bitz.
Services and burial are private at the convenience of the family.
