James F. Alvey, age 60 of Sykesville, MD died Friday May 18, 2012 at Gettysburg Hospital. He was born July 27, 1951 in St. Marys County, MD, son of James Alvey of Mechanicsville, MD and the late Grace S. Long Jewell. He was the husband of the late Wanda M. Dunn Alvey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He was a lab worker at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab.
He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Russell and her fiance’, Jeff Cook both of Littlestown, PA; step-daughter, Kelly Miley of Biglerville, PA; step-mother, Ruth Alvey of Mechanicsville, MD; step father, Jessie Jewell of NH; brothers, Roger Alvey of NC and Robert Alvey of NH; half-brother, Myron Jewell of NH; granddaughters, Rachel and Rebecca Russell; step grandchildren, Seth and Faith Miley.
Services and interment will be private.
