Irvin R. Bauer, 87, of Westminster, died Wednesday afternoon, January 13, 2016 at his home.
Born August 28, 1928 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late John and Evelyn Yealdhall Bauer. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Agnes Schultz Bauer.
Irvin was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and National Guard. He served as a Baltimore City Firefighter for 24 years.
Surviving him are daughters, Gail Henderson and husband, Dave, of Delta, PA and Sharon Costa-Merkel and husband, Bruce, of Westminster; son, Russell M. Bauer of Baltimore; grandchildren, Stephen and Christopher Bostic, Russell Bauer, Jr., Ryan Mechlinski, Kyle Henderson, Kristy McClean, Lauren Bauer, and Olivia Costa; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was also predeceased by his son, Mark G. Bauer and sister, Evelyn Vaughn.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 18, 2016 from the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis Street, Westminster, with the American Legion Chaplain Phil Luster officiating. Burial will follow in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, Timonium. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
