Irene E. Long, age 61 of Taneytown, died Thursday September 16, 2010 at Lorien Nursing Home in Taneytown. She was born May 16, 1949 in Swiss, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Onico and Tina Moses McKinney. She was the wife of Richard W. Long, her husband of 35 years. She worked in medical records and as a certified nursing assistant at Carroll Lutheran Village for 21 years. And for the past 5 years she worked at Lorien Nursing Homein medical records and central supply. She enjoyed family, her grandchildren and camping at Cedar Lakes Family Campground in Dover, PA.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Leslie Lambert of Spring Grove, PA and stepson and wife, Edward and Lauri Long of Union Bridge; siblings, Carl Moses of Summersville, WVA, Ruth Pendleberry of Scott Depot, WVA and Lorene Barnes of Martinsburg, WVA; grandchildren, Ashley Lambert, Allison Lambert, Tristan Long, Dalton Long, Matt Stefenski, and Arron and Dylan Rutter; nieces, Sandy, Linda, Betty, Shelly and Rita; nephews, Michael, Paul and Danny; devoted cousin, Ann Moses; also devoted friends of Lorien Nursing Home and Cedar Lakes Family Campground.
She was predeceased by siblings, Jean Deal, Jr. McKinney and Bobby Jo Moses.
A funeral service will be held Monday Sept. 20, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster with Rev. Jimmie L. Schwartz officiating.
Interment will follow in Westminster Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm and 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
