Inez Marie Belt, 90, of New Windsor, MD, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Homestead at Sun Valley Assisted Living in Sykesville. Born November 24, 1925 in Dahinda, IL, she was the daughter of the late Hunter and Hester Montgomery Hill. She was the wife of the late Orion Earl Belt, to whom she was married for almost 60 years.
Inez was a mortgage underwriter for 25 years with Carroll County Bank and BB&T. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church near Hampstead and the Roaring Run and Sulphur Springs Lions Clubs. One of her favorite pastimes was dining out with friends. She loved and embraced her family and her beloved pet dog, Abby.
Surviving are children, Wayne Belt and wife Norma Calhoun of Gettysburg, PA, Neill Belt and wife Jane of Hanover, PA, Sandra Haines and husband Leonard of Kalispell, MT, Gail Paul and husband Michael of Westminster, MD, and Barbara Creel and husband Lou of Toano, VA; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Clyde Hunter Hill and Roy Hill.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2016 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD, with the Rev. Jimmie L. Schwartz officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
