Ida Dorothy Barnard, age 83 of Westminster died Wednesday September 19, 2012 at Carroll Lutheran Village Healthcare Center. She was born June 20, 1929 in
Baltimore, MD, daughter of the late John J. and Ida D. Abbey Dawson. She was a registered nurse and worked for the Baltimore County Department of Health. Ida enjoyed creative writing for the Village publications and she sang with the Village Singers.
She is survived by children, Dorothy “Dottie” Hall and husband, Denny of Perry Hall, Robert Guy Barnard of Virginia and James W. Barnard of Florida; siblings, Nina Dennison and husband, Walt of Berlin, MD, John “Jack” Dawson, Jr. and wife, Marlene and Walter J. Dawson all of Boise, ID; also survived by 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday September 22, 2012
at Carroll Lutheran Village, Krug Chapel, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, with Rev. Jimmie L. Schwartz officiating.
Interment will follow in Cokesbury Methodist Church Cemetery in Abingdon, MD.
The family will receive friends Friday 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster and Saturday 12:00 pm until time of the service at Krug Chapel.
